Hoàng and Lan Anh worked for a cigarette company located at 27 Phan cư trinh. Quận 1 gần chợ Bến Thành in 1977. Hoàng was a store man and Lan Anh worked in the office, together they conspired and stole rations which were ment for the people and a huge amount of cigarettes. They hid the cigarettes in Vân's house 105/19D Hoàng Hoa Thám F6 Q BT, but her father (Tú) told them to move them, so they moved them to Trinh's (Mai Khôi) house at Trần Kế xương St. The cigarettes and rations were then sold by Nguyễn Ngọc Phi and Nguyễn Thị Mỷ.
